PDF Split Tools

Split PDF files locally in your browser, with no upload.

How to split PDF files

Choose Split PDF when one document needs to become separate files. It supports custom page ranges, every N pages, top-level bookmarks, and one file per page. Preview the boundaries, then download a PDF or package multiple outputs as a ZIP.

Split a PDF into separate files

Open Split PDF and choose how the pages should be grouped. Use custom ranges for selected sections, every N pages for repeated groups, top-level bookmarks for an existing section structure, or one file per page.

  1. Choose the method that matches the document.
  2. Enter page ranges or the page count for each group, or choose bookmarks or one file per page.
  3. Preview the boundaries to check where each output starts and ends.
  4. Download one PDF or package multiple outputs as a ZIP.

Split PDF by page ranges or every N pages

Use custom page ranges when selected pages should stay together. A 12-page report can become three outputs when you select pages 1 to 3, page 7, and pages 10 to 12.

Input: 12-page report
Output: pages 1-3 | page 7 | pages 10-12

Choose every N pages for repeated groups. Set the page count for each group, and the tool divides the document using that count.

Split PDF by bookmarks or one page at a time

Choose top-level bookmarks when the PDF already uses them to mark sections. Split PDF uses those bookmarks as the boundaries, so this method requires that bookmark level in the document.

Choose one file per page to create a separate output for each page. When the split creates multiple files, download them together as a ZIP.

Where splitting PDF files comes up

A combined report can become separate section files with custom page ranges. Select the pages for each section and leave unrelated pages outside those outputs.

A PDF with top-level bookmarks can be split at its existing section boundaries.

A packet with one record per page can produce one output for each record when you choose one file per page.

When to use PDF Split Tools

Use PDF Split Tools when one PDF needs multiple outputs. For other PDF jobs, PDF Tools lists categories for compressing, converting, editing, merging, redacting, repairing, and extracting text.
