How to merge PPTX presentations
Add two or more local PPTX presentations, choose the slides from each file, then set their order in one list. Slide Merger reads the packages in your browser, shows findings before export, and creates merged-presentation.pptx for download. The page reads the source files locally and makes no content upload request.

How Slide range selects slides
Numbers are 1-based and refer to each presentation's own slide order. Enter individual numbers, comma-separated ranges, or both. The parser accepts all and * for every slide, keeps duplicate selections once, and lists invalid or out-of-bounds entries as ignored.
Slide range: 1-3,5,8-10
Selected slides: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10
Changing a range removes that file's current entries and inserts the new entries around the first position it occupied. When slides from several files are interleaved, check Slides in this merge again after changing a range.
What combining PPTX files keeps
Slide Merger copies selected slides as PPTX package parts, so it does not turn them into rasterized images. Referenced layouts, masters, themes, media, notes, charts, SmartArt, embedded workbooks, and OLE objects are copied when their parts are available. Linked media and objects remain external references, so the linked files are not bundled. An OLE object is copied as-is and may not remain editable in every viewer.
What the preflight report checks
Conflicts detected before export scans every added file, including files whose slides you later remove. It can identify theme differences, linked external targets, embedded VBA projects, embedded fonts, and chart, SmartArt, or embedded-object data. Each source theme stays with its slides, so sections with different themes can look inconsistent. Embedded fonts are not carried into the merged file.
- Complex chart or SmartArt data may need PowerPoint to re-render after later edits.
- Macro projects can be flagged, and macros do not run in the browser.
When to use Slide Merger
Use Slide Merger to assemble selected slides from several PPTX files and control their final order. The parent Presentation Merge Tools category covers other presentation-merging options; this page handles per-file ranges, slide-level reordering, and a report after the merge.
After at least two files have selected slides, adding a file or changing a range, order, or selection starts a new merge. The resulting Merge report shows slide and source counts in Level, Source, and Detail columns. It can list missing parts, guessed content types, OLE objects, and slides skipped because their root part could not be copied.
What Slide Merger accepts and leaves unchanged
The input accepts only .pptx files. Files ending in .ppt or .pptm are rejected by the extension check. You can add up to 20 files, with a combined size limit of 250 MB. The implementation has no separate maximum slide count.
Unreadable PPTX packages are skipped with an error. The originals stay unchanged. The generated file is named merged-presentation.pptx, and the browser creates the download from the local merge result.
A common merge sequence
Set each file's Slide range before you arrange the combined list. To leave out a duplicate title slide, select Remove slide in Slides in this merge. Then inspect Merge report for package parts or content that may need review in PowerPoint.
Frequently asked questions
Can I merge selected slides from two PPTX files?
Set a Slide range for each file, then arrange the selected slides in Slides in this merge.
How do I reorder slides after combining presentations?
Drag a slide in Slides in this merge to a new position, or use its move controls. Slide Merger uses that order for the merged deck.
What happens to different themes when I merge PPTX files?
Each source keeps its own theme, layout, and master. Slide Merger reports the difference before export, and the merged deck can look inconsistent across source sections.
Does Slide Merger upload my presentations?
The page reads and merges the files in the browser. It makes no content upload request and leaves the original files unchanged.
