How to split or join paragraphs
Enter text in Input text or choose Upload, then select the change you need. Split text into paragraphs (each sentence new line) puts detected sentences on separate lines. Join paragraphs into one block combines every non-empty line. Smart Unwrap keeps paragraph gaps, while Full Unwrap removes every line break. Output text updates when the input, mode, or Join separator changes.
- Enter text in Input text, or choose Upload to select a text file.
- Select Split text into paragraphs (each sentence new line), Join paragraphs into one block, Smart Unwrap, or Full Unwrap.
- For Join paragraphs into one block, edit Join separator if the default space does not fit the output.
- Check Output text, then choose Copy or Download.
How to split text into sentences
Choose Split text into paragraphs (each sentence new line) when the text needs one detected sentence per line. The mode converts runs of whitespace to single spaces and trims the result before it looks for one or more periods, exclamation marks, or question marks followed by whitespace or the end of the text. A final fragment without those marks remains as the last line.
Input:
The shipment arrived. Check the labels!
Output:
The shipment arrived.
Check the labels!
Original paragraph spacing is removed in this mode. The output contains one line for each match, and the recognized punctuation stays at the end of its line.
How to join paragraphs into one block
Join paragraphs into one block trims every input line, removes empty lines, and puts the value in Join separator between the lines that remain. Join separator starts with a space. You can replace it with other text or clear it.
Input:
First copied line
second copied line
Next paragraph
Join separator: |
Output:
First copied line | second copied line | Next paragraph
Every non-empty line becomes one piece of the result, so paragraph gaps disappear. This also means a line that looks like a heading is joined in the same way as any other line.
Smart Unwrap and Full Unwrap
Smart Unwrap joins single line breaks inside each paragraph and keeps groups separated by two or more consecutive line breaks. Full Unwrap trims each line, drops empty lines, and joins all remaining lines with spaces in one block.
Input:
Quarterly report
Revenue rose.
Next steps
Review costs.
Smart Unwrap:
Quarterly report Revenue rose.
Next steps Review costs.
Full Unwrap:
Quarterly report Revenue rose. Next steps Review costs.
Both modes convert CRLF and CR line endings to the same line-break form before processing. Smart Unwrap then returns paragraph groups separated by two line breaks, while Full Unwrap returns one continuous block.
