How to use the Invisible Text Generator
- Select one or more invisible characters in the character grid.
- Choose Padding (repeat characters only) or Insertion (invisible text between your text).
- Set Repeat count and, for insertion, fill in Visible text and Insert every N chars.
- Review the generated result, then choose Copy or Download.
Generate zero-width text or blank characters
Padding (repeat characters only) creates a standalone string by repeating the selected characters. The grid lists Zero Width Space, Zero Width Non-Joiner, Zero Width Joiner, Word Joiner, Zero Width No-Break Space (BOM), No-Break Space, Braille Pattern Blank, Hangul fillers, several space characters, Mongolian Vowel Separator, and Musical Symbol Null Notehead. Zero Width Space is selected when the page loads and after Reset.
Repeat count is clamped to 1 through 500. When several characters are selected, the tool joins them into one sequence and repeats that sequence. Selecting Zero Width Space with Repeat count set to 3 produces three U+200B characters.
Insert invisible Unicode characters into text
Choose Insertion (invisible text between your text) to keep the visible characters and place the selected sequence after each qualifying group. Visible text accepts up to 500 characters. Insert every N chars is clamped to 1 through 50, and the sequence is not added after the final character.
Visible text: ABCD; Insert every N chars: 2; Output with Zero Width Space: AB[U+200B]CD
The result updates when you change the character selection, Mode, Visible text, Repeat count, or Insert every N chars. Insertion requires non-empty Visible text. If no character is selected, the tool shows an error and hides the result.
Check how invisible text may render
Compatibility preview shows the result in Plain text field, Whitespace-trimmed context, Monospace / code view, and Fallback-glyph context. Whitespace trimming can remove padding at the edges. Monospace and fallback views can show placeholder glyphs. The preview illustrates these rendering cases; it does not test the destination app.
Enable Show code-point reveal after generating to list each character, such as U+200B - Zero Width Space. The result count uses the page's JavaScript character count. Download saves invisible-text.txt as plain text.
Use cases for generated invisible text
To inspect a sample identifier, insert Zero Width Space and compare the result with the code-point reveal. Padding with No-Break Space or Braille Pattern Blank gives a field blank-looking characters to handle.
For a chat name or label, create a padded string, choose Copy, and check it in the target app. Insertion places the selected sequence inside a visible sentence, so the code-point reveal can show where those characters land.
Pick a generator for the text you need
Text Generation Tools groups this character generator with other text generators. Use Random String Generator for configurable random strings, Lorem Ipsum Generator for placeholder words or paragraphs, and Password Generator for random passwords or word-based passphrases.
Input limits for invisible text
- Repeat count accepts
1through500, Visible text accepts 500 characters, and Insert every N chars accepts1through50. Values outside the numeric ranges are clamped.
Frequently asked questions
How do I generate invisible text?
Select a character in the character grid, choose a mode, and adjust the visible controls. The generated result appears automatically, then you can choose Copy or Download.
How do I make blank-looking text with a zero-width character?
Leave Zero Width Space selected, keep Padding (repeat characters only), and set Repeat count to the number of code points you need. Some receiving apps may strip or display the characters differently.
Can I put invisible characters inside a sentence?
Yes. Choose Insertion (invisible text between your text), enter the sentence in Visible text, and set Insert every N chars. The sequence is inserted between qualifying characters and never after the final character.
Why does invisible text show as boxes or question marks?
The receiving app or font may use a fallback glyph for a character it cannot render as blank. Check Fallback-glyph context in the Compatibility preview, then test the copied result in the destination app.
Can this tool remove invisible characters from existing text?
No. The tool generates new output; it does not inspect or clean an existing string. Visible text is used only as the input for Insertion (invisible text between your text).
