IP Address Validator & Bulk Lookup Tool

Quickly validate IPv4, IPv6, and CIDR blocks in bulk. Validation runs in your browser; optional ISP, ASN, and geolocation details are requested from an external lookup service for a single IP. Simply enter a single IP or paste your list to analyze network data.

How to use the IP Address Validator & Bulk Lookup Tool

Enter one value under IP address, or switch to Multiple IPs for a list. A valid single result shows the address version, validity, and classification. A bulk result adds a row for each nonblank value, while a valid single IPv4 result also shows decimal, binary, and hexadecimal forms.

How to validate one address or a list

  1. Select Single IP for one address, or select Multiple IPs for several values.
  2. Enter a value in IP address, or paste values into IP addresses to validate. In the bulk field, place one value per line or separate values with commas.
  3. Read the validation status, then review the address version, classification, and message when shown below the input.
  4. For one valid result, select Copy. For several results, select Copy CSV or Download CSV.

What IPv4, IPv6, and CIDR validation checks

The parser trims each value before checking it. IPv4 input needs four dot-separated number groups, and every group must contain digits from 0 through 255. IPv6 input can use one compressed :: section. A CIDR suffix must contain digits, with a prefix from 0 through 32 for IPv4 or 0 through 128 for IPv6.

Valid input receives a classification. IPv4 results can be Private, Loopback, Link-local, Multicast, Unspecified/reserved, or Public. IPv6 results can be Unspecified, Loopback, Unique local, Link-local, Multicast, or Public. Invalid input displays the parser's reason.

8.8.8.8
IPv4 | Public
Decimal: 134744072
Binary: 00001000.00001000.00001000.00001000
Hexadecimal: 0x08080808

What the bulk result includes

Multiple IPs splits the field at commas and line breaks, trims each item, and ignores blank items. Its table contains Input, Valid, Version, Classification, and Message. The CSV uses Input, Valid, Version, Classification, and Error, so it does not include the single-result IPv4 conversions or lookup fields.

Single IP can request lookup details for a valid address without a CIDR prefix. When the external request returns usable data, the breakdown can show ISP, ASN, City, Region, Country, and Latitude/Longitude. CIDR input skips that request. A failed request leaves the result with "Lookup details unavailable."

Examples with private, CIDR, and public input

During a configuration review, paste the addresses into Multiple IPs and copy the CSV beside the related ticket or change record. The Classification column identifies private, loopback, link-local, multicast, and public results.

To check a subnet value, enter 192.168.1.0/24 in Single IP. The result shows whether the address and prefix parse as IPv4 CIDR input, and the prefix range is checked before the result is marked valid.

For one public address, inspect the validation breakdown and any returned lookup fields. For a URL, choose the Data Validation Tools category and use the URL Validator when the whole URL needs parsing. Use the Phone Number Validator & Formatter for phone-number input, or the Base64 Validator for encoded text.

Frequently asked questions

How do I validate a bulk list of IP addresses?

Select Multiple IPs and paste the list into IP addresses to validate. Separate values with line breaks or commas, then review the table. Use Copy CSV or Download CSV for the table data.

Can the IP address validator check CIDR notation?

Yes. Enter a CIDR-style value such as 192.168.1.0/24 in IP address. IPv4 prefixes can run from 0 through 32, and IPv6 prefixes can run from 0 through 128.

What does an IPv4 validation result show?

A valid IPv4 result shows the address version, validity, classification, and decimal, binary, and hexadecimal conversions. A valid single address without a CIDR prefix can also show returned lookup fields.

Why are lookup details unavailable for an IP address?

Lookup details can be unavailable when the external request fails or returns no usable data. CIDR input does not request those details. Validation and classification still run.
