How to remove vowels and consonants from text
Put text in Input text or choose Upload text to load a supported file. Select Remove vowels (a, e, i, o, u) or Remove consonants, then check the result in Transformed output. Punctuation, numbers, spaces, emoji, line breaks, and non-ASCII letters stay in place. The page processes the text in your browser.
How to use the transformation modes
- Enter or paste content into Input text, or choose a file with Upload text.
- Select Remove vowels (a, e, i, o, u) or Remove consonants.
- Check the changed content in Transformed output.
- Select Copy to copy the result, or Download to save it as a text file.
What Remove vowels (a, e, i, o, u) changes
Remove vowels (a, e, i, o, u) is selected when the page opens. It removes those five letters in uppercase and lowercase forms. For example:
Input text: Hello, 2026!
Transformed output: Hll, 2026!
Select Remove consonants to remove the ASCII consonant letters covered by its pattern. The comma, space, digits, and exclamation mark remain unchanged.
Input text: Hello, 2026!
Transformed output: eo, 2026!
What the text transformation leaves unchanged
The patterns target ASCII letters. Accented and other non-ASCII letters stay in the output, along with punctuation, numbers, whitespace, emoji, and line breaks. The page has no custom letter set. The consonant pattern includes Y when Remove consonants is selected.
Upload text accepts files marked .txt, .csv, .log, .md, or text/plain. An empty Input text clears Transformed output and disables Copy and Download. Editing the input or changing the mode updates the result.
Where removing vowels or consonants comes up
- Remove vowels from a clue or phrase, then copy the altered line into a word-game draft.
- Remove consonants from a short example when you want to inspect its remaining vowels and symbols.
- Compare the input and output to check how a text sample changes while punctuation and numbers keep their positions.

For a different operation, open Text Transformation Tools. Find and Replace Text handles literal or regular-expression matches with matching options and previews. Binary Converter turns characters into binary, decimal, hexadecimal, or octal codes. Hex Converter encodes text as hexadecimal or decodes hexadecimal input.
