Credit Card Extractor

Paste text to extract credit/debit card number candidates. Each candidate is checked with the Luhn checksum, assigned a likely network when a pattern matches, and shown with a nearby text snippet. Optional masking changes displayed and exported values.

Extraction options

This tool only checks number format and Luhn checksum. It does not contact any card network, issuer, or payment processor, and makes no claim about whether a number is real, active, or authorized for use.

How to use Credit Card Extractor

Paste text into Credit Card Extractor or upload a .txt, .csv, .json, or .log file. The tool finds card-number-shaped candidates, removes spaces and hyphens for its checks, and shows each result with Luhn status, a likely network, line number, and nearby context. Masking changes the values shown in the table and output.

Extract card numbers from text

  1. Paste text into Input text, or choose Upload text and select a .txt, .csv, .json, or .log file.
  2. Review the Extracted candidates table, including Number, Network, Status, Line, and Context.
  3. Set Unique only, Show Luhn-invalid candidates, or Mask numbers (show last 4 digits only) as needed.
  4. Check Output text, then choose Copy or Download. The download filename is card-numbers.txt.

What Credit Card Extractor reports

Each row in Extracted candidates has Number, Network, Status, Line, and Context. Line counts newline characters before the match. Context includes up to 20 characters on each side, collapses whitespace, and adds an ellipsis when more text falls outside the snippet.

Input: Primary card: 4111 1111 1111 1111
Output: 4111111111111111 | Visa | Luhn valid
  • Unique only compares digits after removing spaces and hyphens. The first retained match supplies that number's line and context.
  • Show Luhn-invalid candidates controls invalid rows in the table, output, count, copied text, and downloaded file. Clear it to keep Luhn-valid rows.
  • Mask numbers (show last 4 digits only) changes the table, output, copied text, and downloaded file. Input text still contains the original text.
  • Reset options turns all three options back on. The count shows the total, valid count, and invalid count.

Credit card number matching limits

The matcher accepts 12 to 19 digits, with optional single spaces or hyphens between digits. It checks the Luhn checksum and applies prefix and length patterns for Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, UnionPay, and Maestro. A candidate outside those patterns is labeled Unknown.

Input: Backup card: 4111-1111-1111-1112
Output: 4111111111111112 | Visa | Luhn invalid

Luhn status is a checksum result. Credit Card Extractor does not contact a card network, issuer, bank, or payment processor, so it cannot verify an account, funds, authorization, or active status.

Use the extracted candidates

For a review list, compare the Number, Network, Status, Line, and Context columns, then use Copy or Download.

When the same card appears with spaces in one row and hyphens in another, turn on Unique only. The first retained occurrence supplies the displayed location.

Keep Mask numbers (show last 4 digits only) enabled before using Copy or Download when the output should show only the last four digits. Input text still contains the original text, so clear it when finished.

When another text extractor fits better

Use Text Parsing & Data Extraction to choose among text parsing jobs. The Address Extractor is the better choice for US-style street addresses and PO boxes, while the Bitcoin Address Extractor targets Bitcoin address candidates. Choose the Currency Extractor for monetary amounts marked by configured symbols or uppercase currency codes.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Luhn-valid result verify a card number?

No. Luhn checks the number's checksum, while this tool does not verify an account, issuer, funds, authorization, or active status.

Does this credit card extractor process text in the browser?

Yes. Extraction, checksum validation, and rendering run in browser JavaScript, and the page's tool script makes no request containing the entered text. Uploaded files are read into the page as text.

What networks can the credit card number extractor detect?

It checks Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, UnionPay, and Maestro patterns. Candidates outside those prefix and length patterns are labeled Unknown.

How does Unique only handle repeated card numbers?

It keeps one match for each normalized digit sequence, so spaced and hyphenated versions of the same number compare as duplicates. The first retained match supplies the displayed line and context.
