Image Flipper

Flip images horizontally or vertically to create a mirror image, with a live preview and batch support. Everything runs locally in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How to flip images horizontally or vertically

Load one or more JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, or BMP files, then choose how Image Flipper should mirror them. The source preview changes as you select Horizontal, Vertical, Both (180°), or Reset. After you click Apply, the page shows the processed image and the output size. Selected files are handled in the browser, and the page does not send them to a server.

How to use Image Flipper

  1. Drop images here, or click browse files, and select one or more supported images.
  2. Select a file row to make it active. The row shows its original size, and the source appears in the preview.
  3. Choose Horizontal, Vertical, or Both (180°). Choose Reset to return the source preview to its original orientation.
  4. Choose an option under Output format. Set Quality - 92% for JPEG or WebP, or check Lossless output (forces PNG, pixel-exact flip).
  5. Click Apply, inspect Processed image, then use the row download link or Download all as ZIP.

What output format and quality change

Keep original uses the source type for JPEG, PNG, and WebP. For GIF or BMP input, it falls back to PNG. JPEG, WebP, and PNG choose a specific output type. Quality appears for JPEG and WebP; PNG uses the lossless encoder. Lossless output (forces PNG, pixel-exact flip) disables Output format and Quality.

Input: photo.jpg, Horizontal
Output: photo-flipped.jpg
Change: left and right swap places

Both (180°) applies the horizontal and vertical flips together. The canvas keeps the image dimensions, so flipping does not crop or resize it. JPEG and WebP are encoded again, while PNG uses the lossless output path.

How to keep EXIF metadata when flipping JPEGs

Canvas export removes metadata by default. Check Keep metadata (EXIF) - JPEG output only when the source is JPEG and Output format produces JPEG. In that case, the page copies an EXIF segment when one is present. PNG and WebP output do not use this copy path. The Metadata readout shows JPEG EXIF eligible or Removed on export.

Flip multiple images and download a ZIP

Load multiple supported files, select rows to inspect them, and click Apply after setting the flip and output options. One settings snapshot is used for the loaded files. The file list reports each original size, output size, and status. Download a result from its row, or choose Download all as ZIP when the results are ready. Files with neither a supported extension nor an image MIME type are ignored. The page states no maximum file count or size.

Where this comes up

Image Flipper swaps left and right or top and bottom. A sideways scan needs Image Rotator, which turns the image and supports custom angles. Use Image Cropper to remove edges or choose an aspect ratio. Use Image Resizer when the required change is pixel dimensions. Image Edit Tools lists these direct image changes together.
