How to resize images
Load one image or a batch, set the target dimensions, and choose Apply. The page processes the selected files in your browser, shows Before and After previews, and puts completed results into one ZIP download.
- Drop files on Drop images here, or select browse files.
- Set Dimensions (px) or choose a button under Social media presets.
- Choose Fit, Fill, or Exact, then set any related options.
- Choose Apply to process the selected files.
- Check Before and After, then choose Download all as ZIP.
Resize images to exact dimensions
Enter the target width and height in Dimensions (px). After the first image loads, those fields show its pixel dimensions. The ratio is locked initially. Select the button between the fields to let the two values change independently; while the ratio is locked, changing one value recalculates the other from the first image.
Social media presets fills the fields with set values. For example, Instagram Post uses 1080 by 1080, Instagram Story uses 1080 by 1920, and YouTube Thumbnail uses 1280 by 720. The preset sets dimensions, and Apply starts the resize.
Fit, fill, or exact resize
Choose the mode based on what should happen when the source and target proportions differ.
- Fit keeps the full image visible and places it on the target canvas. Set Fit background or select Transparent for the unused space.
- Fill covers the target canvas and crops the excess around the edges.
- Exact stretches the source to both target values, so its proportions can change.
Source: 1600 by 900
Target: 1080 by 1080
Fit: 1080 by 608 image plus background space
Fill: 1080 by 1080 canvas with side edges cropped
Each file uses its own source proportions in Fit and Fill. A batch can therefore produce different amounts of padding or cropping for different files.
Batch image resizing and output formats
Select several files through browse files or Drop images here. One set of dimensions and options applies to the batch. The table shows each File, Original, New size, and Status. Remove a row before applying, or choose Clear workspace to empty the selection.
Under Output format, Keep source type when supported retains JPEG, WebP, or PNG input types. You can choose JPEG, WebP, or PNG instead. When JPEG is selected, Transparent is disabled. Don't enlarge smaller images starts selected and reduces the requested target proportionally when it is larger than the source.
The drop zone names JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, and AVIF. A file that cannot be decoded as an image gets an error in the workspace. The page does not define a numeric maximum for file count, file size, or pixel dimensions.
Where image resizing comes up
- For a square output, choose Instagram Post, then use Fit for the whole image or Fill for a cropped canvas.
- For a 1280 by 720 output, choose YouTube Thumbnail and select the resize mode that matches the required crop or padding.
- For several files with the same target, load the batch, choose the dimensions and options, then download the completed results as a ZIP.
When another image edit tool fits better
Use Image Edit Tools for other direct image changes. Choose Image Cropper for a freeform selection, rotation, or visual guides. Choose Aspect Ratio Checker & Cropper to inspect an image's ratio before cropping. Use Icon Resizer to create a set of app, social, or UI icon sizes from one source.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize images without cropping them?
Choose Fit to keep the full image visible inside the target dimensions. Use Fit background or Transparent for the unused space around an image with different proportions.
How do I resize images for social media?
Choose a button under Social media presets, such as Instagram Story or Facebook Post, then select the resize mode and choose Apply. The selected preset supplies the target dimensions.
What does Don't enlarge smaller images do?
Don't enlarge smaller images keeps the output within the source image's pixel dimensions by reducing the requested target proportionally when needed. Clear it when the output should use the entered dimensions even if the source is enlarged.
Can I resize multiple images at once?
Yes, select multiple images through browse files or by dropping them on Drop images here. The same dimensions and options apply to the batch, and Download all as ZIP packages completed results.
Are images uploaded when I resize them?
No. The page processes loading, resizing, and previewing in the browser, with no request in the page code that sends the selected image content to a server.
